We only stock coconut shell-based granulated activated carbon, as this type of activated carbon filter is highly porous and efficient for organic chemical absorption in a fish tank. Granulated activated carbon filters are more effective than activated carbon pellets, as the granular form can cover a much larger surface area, filtering more of your water as a result. Not only is this more efficient, but buying granulated activated carbon water filters should also help to save you money over time, as you won’t need to stock up quite as often as you would with pellets. This is because the centre of a pellet is never actually coming into contact with your water. 

Our activated carbon filters are available in quantities of 200g, 600g, 1,000g, 2,000g, 5,000g, or 25kg, depending on the size of your fish tank or aquarium - we recommend using 50g of carbon per 50 litres of water. Prices start from just a couple of pounds, with all of our activated carbon filters coming in a grip seal bag, so you can keep whatever you’re not using sealed until you need it.
